The Schaab-Puddeford wedding

Last weekend, I was very privileged to be able to attend the marriage of my cousin Mike to his lovely wife Lucy. The whole schaabang was held at the Elfordleigh Hotel in Plympton, just a few miles from where they live in Plymouth, England.

The weather is very pleasant in the South and we all enjoyed a gorgeous day of celebration and fun. The intimate ceremony was held in a conservatory and was very short and sweet. Afterwards we mingled and took photos.
Here are the Schaabs!

Quite a few family came over from NZ especially for it. Mike’s parents; my uncle Mic, auntie Vonnie, their daughter Donna, her daughter Holly, auntie Helen, cuz Sam and Kelly. Kelly and her Steve live in Tisbury. It was lovely to see them all again.

The bride and groom escaped on a golf buggy to get photos taken around the fabulous hotel grounds and we continued to enjoy the perfect PIMMS weather.

The reception was brilliant with good food, meaningful and funny speeches and the live band inspired some exceptional dancing! The cake featured a gingerbread couple, I can see the resemblance to Mike!

The sun was shining again the next day. We all got up just in time to get some full english breakfast and said goodbye to the newly weds as they went on their way to St Ives for a few days r+r.

We caught some rays [uncle Mic is working on his tan!] before stopping by their flat in Plymouth and checking out the centre of town for an ice cream. It really is a pretty seaside town.

Mum and I had to drive back to Oxford via Stonehenge [cos it’s just what you have to do!] So we regretfully left them all drinking in the sun and hit the road. It was a marvellous weekend.
