Look at the lovely bacon and egg pie that we ate on Sat night! Kate and Steve Doran hosted a night of nostalgia and kiwi cuisine for Waitangi Day - it was wonderful! Anthony G popped over from Glasgow for some cheese rolls, pie, salad and afgans, but the main reward was the Mac's Gold that Kate & Steve had got! After we stuffed ourselves silly we had a round of pass-the-parcel with kiwi/scottish trivia questions. We even played some good ol' kiwi drinking games..! ops
Alva Glen
The next day we got up reluctantly and drove with our German friends Beate, Anja and Axel to the Alva Glen. We enjoyed a pleasant walk up the valley and stopped for lunch next to the river. Lunch was left-over bacon and egg pie! [very good for hungover stomachs] I think the fresh air did us good aswell!
