Festival Finale

Don't panic - the famous Edinburgh Castle is not on fire, its the fireworks show marking the end of the Edinburgh International Festival!
For the last 3 weeks Edinburgh has doubled its population and burst at the seems with creative talent. It is because of the Festival [in its 60th year] and the Fringe Festival [which was cheaper, more interesting and much more ...risky]. Yes we saw some fantastic up-and-coming stars of the stage as well as some lame-os who wanted some of that tourist dosh. There were over 100 venues and every genre you could imagine from stand-up to 'interprative dance'. We tried to see it all - but there was simply too much!!
Highlights included an intimate Jazz gig from Mercy Breheny www.mercybreheny.co.uk, the theatrical performance of two guys from Liverpool called 'Insomnobabble', the crazy moustashed boys of Papi's Fun Club, the stand-up comedian Patrick Monahan and the film THE RING FINGER (L'ANNULAIRE). It's over, now what do we do with our evenings?
